A Stitch in Time: Quilting Exhibit
ON DISPLAY
April 9, 2026 - July 29, 2026
Welcome "A Stitch in Time," an exhibit of historic quilts from the Montgomery Museum's collection!
A quilt is a bedcover made from layers of fabric, usually a top, an inner fill, and a backing. The quilt maker would usually create the top themselves, then hold a quilting bee with family and friends to help stitch all the layers together. The changes in quilting over time illustrate a variety of social, cultural, and design changes in America from the eighteenth century through the present.
This exhibit will be on display from April 9 - July 29. Join the Montgomery Museum at this exhibit's opening reception on April 9 from 5 - 7 PM!
This exhibit is generously sponsored by The Quilting Party.
