The Montgomery Museum of Art and History to hold a concert celebrating traditional Appalachian musical heritage and traditions on November 20th at the Center for the Arts at Virginia Tech.

Experience traditional Appalachian music from major award winning names like Appalachian Road Show, the Junior Sisk Band, and Jack Hinshelwood at the Keepers of Appalachian Music Traditions concert, tickets available now at the Montgomery Museum website. The concert will be held on November 20th at the Center for the Arts at Virginia Tech from 7:00pm - 9:00pm. The concert will celebrate the traditional music of southwest Virginia and Appalachia, as well as the musicians who carry these traditions into the future.

The concert will be opened by the Junior Sisk Band, an award-winning bluegrass band that honors the music of the Blue Ridge while bringing it into the future. The concert will feature Appalachian Road Show, the Grammy award nominated and winning ensemble band that presents new interpretations of traditional Appalachian, bluegrass and folk songs, as well as offering original music. Also featuring Jack Hinshelwood, a local multi-instrumentalist award winner with more than 50 years experience performing traditional Appalachian music of many forms. This concert will also be highlighting the rising stars and preservers of Appalachian music - Berkley Stewart and Hollace Oakes.

Stop by the lobby to listen to the Montgomery County Junior Appalachian Musicians, a local youth ensemble sponsored and hosted by the Montgomery Museum. These young musicians are the future of Appalachian folk music, and will perform in the lobby of the Center of the Arts before the concert.
