Mardy Baker

Martha (Mardy) Baker is a native of South West VA.  She grew up learning to sew from her Mother and admired her sisters skill in creating doll clothes.  Mardy moved on to working with Theatrical Companies, building costumes and Millinery work.  Always on the look out for creative outlets, this passion grew over the years to her making a Fascinators for special events after a trip to England where every proper lady wears a Fascinator to weddings, Mother’s Day events and of course the races.  Mardy continues to make Fascinators, Hats, Hair Sticks and other head ornamentation. Her inspiration comes from things of the past, almost exclusively using vintage and antique materials as the base of her work.
