Betty Moore

"My art reflects my love of nature, my love of experimenting with color and texture and the ways they

interact with each other. I love creating art because it is always full of surprises and there is always more to learn.

I grew up in Blacksburg and returned here with my husband and two small children in 1978. I taught art at Christiansburg Middle School and then at Christiansburg High School before retiring in 2009 so we could travel to visit our children and grandchildren who lived out of state. While teaching at Christiansburg High School, I also attended Radford University and received an MFA in art in 2003.

Since retiring my husband and I have enjoyed traveling which always provides me inspiration for my art." - Betty Moore
