Robert Turner

Dr. Robert “Bob” Turner Jr. (1938–2021) was a writer, teacher, and lifelong artist with a passion for art, reading, and the study of humanity. Raised in a military family and educated at Randolph-Macon College and Virginia Tech, he went on to teach at Radford University and Virginia Tech and authored several books, including The Fire and the Rose. His wide-ranging life experiences and creative work are reflected in the sketches featured here, with selections of his artwork also available in the museum gift shop.
