2006 Special Art Exhibits
January/February: James Underwood -

Statement:

A life-long appreciation of God's majestic creation is the inspiration behind Jame's painting. Each piece evolves from his perception of a particular place or thing. "My favorite time to paint is early morning or dusk," states the artist. "This is when the color, light, and shadows convey the mood of a pristine environment in a moment of solitude. I want the viewer to experience an awakening of the joy and the peace evoked by memories of places they have encountered in their journey through life."

Having grown up in the Blue Ridge Mountains, James Underwood has always been captivated by his surroundings. His art is an expression of his mountain heritage and strong attachment to family and friends.
